Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a group of complex neuro developmental disorders. Deficits in communication and social interactions, unusual behaviour and interests while impacting the nervous system and effecting overall cognitive, emotional, social and physical well-being is mainly due to ASD.

  • The signs and symptoms of autism are typically noticed in the first three years of life. Autism affects the way a child relates to higher environment and their interaction with the other people. Subsequently, this grossly impacts developments in the areas of fails functioning and social interaction. Mental capacities may be compromised due to typical subnormal functioning of some areas of the brain. Therefore children with autism have special needs that must be addressed differently.

    Signs and symptoms of autism include discomfort in social situations, difficulty in communicating needs, lack of speech with behavioral issues such as flopping their hand etc. these signs of autism arising due to a sensory processing difficulty. This may affect their activities of daily living due to which they need assistance or special services.


    Autism is usually diagnosed in early childhood and despite extensive studies. The exact cause of autism remains unknown. However with increased awareness, rapidly evolving technology and ever growing research, it’s now understand that an intricate interplay of genetics and environment factors may be responsible for the onset of autism. Research has established that early diagnosis and intervention along with access to appropriate support lead to significantly improved outcomes. When autism is detected early, disruptive behaviors can be minimized and the quality of life of the individual can be bettered and molded significantly.

    Diagnosis of Autism is done by a multi disciplinary team of professionals. The professionals involved in diagnosing Autism are mainly Psychiatrist, Pediatric Neurologists, Development Pediatrician, Child Psychologists, Occupational Therapist, and Speech & Language Therapist. They look into different aspects of child’s development and therefore can provide a more accurate diagnosis.

Our autism therapy uses the right combination of speech and language therapy, behavioral therapy (PBS & ABA therapy) and occupational therapy based on the need of each child. Sensory integration therapy helps the children to manage their sensory challenges. Behavior therapy helps them with skills like improving eye contact, following instructions, taking turns etc. Speech and language therapy helps them to communicate.
